Reliance Infra to construct Rs 11,000-cr Mumbai Metro II

MUMBAI: Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group firm Reliance Infrastructure Ltd has bagged the Mumbai Metro II project, a 32-km elevated rail line between Charkop to Mankhurd in the suburbs.

"The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has awarded the contract of Mumbai Metro II project to us, for which we are setting up a separate SPV," Reliance Infra CEO and Whole-time Director Lalit Jalan told reporters here today.

The Reliance consortium was the only bidder for the project.

The company is awaiting formal award letter shortly, Jalan said, adding the project will be completed in four years period from the date of award.
