Punj Lloyd bags Rs 947-crore order

MUMBAI: Engineering major Punj Lloyd today said it has bagged an order worth Rs 947 crore from Orissa based Ind-Barath Energy (Utkal) Ltd for construction-related works.

The company has bagged the contract to complete the construction and civil works at the Ind-Barath Energy thermal project at Jharsuguda in Orissa, Punj Lloyd said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

"We are proud to work on this prestigious order, which will consolidate our position in the 'balance plant EPC space' and also stand as a testimony to the confidence that independent power producers have in our capabilities," Punj Lloyd Director P K Gupta said.

The scope of work includes mechanical, electrical and construction-related works and needs to be completed over the next two years, the filing said.

Shares of Punj Lloyd were trading at Rs 213.30 on BSE, up 0.09 per cent from previous close.
