Punj Lloyd wins Rs 574 cr project in Thailand

Punj Lloyd Group, a global engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) conglomerate today announced that it has won its first offshore project in Thailand.

The contract, valued at Rs 574 crore, was secured from PTT Public Company Limited, a Thailand state-owned oil & gas major and one of the largest corporations in Thailand listed in the Fortune Global 500 companies. The contract was won against stiff competition from Korean and Singaporean Contractors.

Punj Lloyd will install three compressor units for the platform compressor station on the PTT Riser Offshore Platform at water depths of up to 80 meters in the Gulf of Thailand.

Speaking on the occasion, P K Gupta, Director, Punj Lloyd Limited said, "This is Punj Lloyd’s first project with PTT in Thailand. Upon completion, the Project will facilitate boosting the pressure of gas being supplied downstream. This would help meeting the rising demand of gas within Thailand domestic market for power plants and other users."

After the onshore fabrication of compressor modules, they will be installed offshore on the existing PTT Riser Platform. The major equipment of the Compression Facility would be Gas Compressors, Aftercoolers and Gas Turbine Generator with all other associated piping, structural and electrical & instrumentation work.

Punj Lloyd Group which has an enviable track record in both onshore and offshore installations, has in the past built TOTAL's South Utility Platform, the Poleng Process Platform and the Peciko Onshore Facility in Indonesia. It is currently working on the Heera Field Redevelopment project for ONGC in India.
